It all started with a fence!
A fence that separated two Freshwater California properties. The caretakers of those properties soon discovered they had in common a love of performance - theatre, dance and improvisation. Their desire to share their stories soon opened up a gate in that fence. As stories and shared theatre exploits grew they soon questioned the need for the fence at all. And so the fence became a shared history. As they stood where the gate and fence once were they were overwhelmed with the sculptural beauty of the land they had unintentionally manifested.
Good performance stories ultimately end up being shared with a wider audience and so it happened. Soon stories were shaped, written and then of course performed, both here on the land and then taken into the greater Humboldt county community. An idea was beginning to take shape, and soon other neighbors joined and contributed to that idea. Like minded creatives and artistically oriented properties joined with their own unique visions.
Soon thereafter what is now over seven acres of land and aptly named Creekside Arts came into existence as an Ink People DreamMaker Project.
