Gilandia

Gilandia is Gil Cline, HSU/CPH trumpet professor emeritus, and multi-instrumentalist Andy Barnett. In their world of improvised music they create musical flights of fancy primarily with Flügelhorn and Keyboard — on the spot, without any rehearsals or extensive planning. They incorporate some of their other favorite instruments (sea shells, slide trumpet, Moroccan Zurna, etcetera). Gilandia is a unique creative ecosphere, illustrating how music is inseparable from nature and our daily lives. Andy is the author of "Compose Yourself! Awakening to the Rhythms of Life," available at the event. Playing the other side of his musical fence, Gil continues to pursue his research and performance on the valveless natural trumpets of the Baroque era.
